Well I would hear what he/shes concerned about and what is the problem. Give them possible solutions on what we can do to help, if its not the solution she wants then I can address her to a manager and see how they can further her/him more in a better matter than I am.

I made simple to not to complex decisions. Like for example when My boss is out and a client has to leave town in the soonest possible time whereby he came it requesting for a permit to travel, I sign for my boss but ofcourse I always take the necessary information and notes/data for references. And upon arrival of my boss in the office I always give an over view of what transpired while he was away from the office.
