Message maps are an MFC approach to windows programming. Instead of writing a WinMain () function that sends messages to your WindProc and then writing a WindProc that checks which kind of message this is and then calls another of your functions, you just write the function that will handle the message, and you add a message map to your class that says, in effect, "I will handle this sort of message." The framework handles whatever routing is required to send that message to you.A number of macros are used in message maps:- DECLARE_MESSAGE_MAP: used in the include file to declare that there will be a message map in the source file.- BEGIN MESSAGE MAP: marks the beginning of the message map in the source file.- END MESSAGE MAP: marks the end of the message map- ON_COMMAND: used to delegate the handling of a command to a function of a class.- ON_COMMAD_RANGS: used to handle a group of commands- ON_MESSAGE: used to delegate the handling of a user defined message to a function- ON_NOTIFY: used to handle the control notification message with some extra information and calls a member function of a class.

It is a clause contained in the underwriting agreement of an initial public offering (IPO). The green shoe option, which is also often referred to as an over-allotment provision, allows the underwriting syndicate to buy up to an additional 15% of the shares at the offering price if public demand for the shares exceeds expectations and the stock trades above its offering price.

One of the first steps in troubleshooting a computer problem (or any other programmable system problem) is to determine whether the problem is because of a hardware failure or faulty software. In most PCs, you can use a significant event that occurs during the boot-up process as akey to separating hardware problems from software problems: the single beep that most PCs produce between the end of the POST and the beginning of the boot-up process.

Yes, I will.  When a gun barrel is manufactured for a handgun or rifle, a series of spiraling grooves is "cut" or machined into its interior surface.  These are put into the barrel in order to impart a spin to the bullet as it passes through the barrel. The spinning bullet has stability in flight and travels in an accurate manner.  The markings that are left on the bullet from the barrel rifling is what the forensic firearms examiner utilizes in determining whether two bullets were fired through the same gun barrel.

As an example, a shooting case received in the forensic lab might have a fired bullet removed from a victim and a suspect weapon from a suspect. The question posed is whether the evidence bullet was fired from the suspect's weapon. An initial inspection of the bullet and weapon is performed to determine whether they match with respect to the same general specifications such as caliber, number and width of lands and grooves, and direction of twist. If they match with respect to these specifications, the firearms examiner will then test fire the weapon into a water tank or other catch box. The fired bullet is then recovered and is used as the "known" or test bullet from the suspect weapon.  The examiner next uses a piece of equipment called a comparison microscope that allows a split screen side by side view of two objects placed on its two separate microscope stages. The evidence bullet is placed on one one stage and the test bullet on the second stage. The examiner looking through the microscope and is able to see a side by side view of the rifling on the evidence and test bullets.  He looks around the entire circumferance of the two bullets to see whether there are matching barrel engraved rifling marks. If there are, the examiner can give the opinion that the two bullets were fired through the same gun barrel.

It is never wrong to quote attribute values, and many people recommend quoting all attribute values even when the quotation marks are technically optional. You have to code the attribute value specially so that the first interior quote doesn't terminate the value prematurely.
