  • Wear and use proper gear for your sport, including helmets, pads, shoes, sunglasses, gloves and layered clothing where appropriate.
  • Understand the rules and follow them. They are in place for a reason.
  • Warm up slowly before activity. This is especially important in sports that require quick, dynamic movements, such as basketball, and soccer.
  • Always use proper body mechanics in sports involving repetitive stress to the upper extremities.
  • Listen to your body. Pain is a warning sign of injury. You should not work through pain, but stop or slow your activity until the pain subsides.
  • Train for your sport. Use specific skills training to prepare for your sport.
  • Cross train for overall conditioning and to allow specific muscles to rest. Cross training will also alleviate boredom and staleness.

A steam trap is used to avoid the rapid expansion that occurs where the pressure changes suddenly, the liquid portion undergoes rapid phase change as well, turning to steam. This sudden phase change results in a violent "explosion" inside the line that can cause other problems.

There is no exact limit on the angle when using only one universal. The effect is that output speed varies seriously with angle. For 20 degress the variation is plus and minus ten percent. It gets to be about 70% for 45 degrees.

The exhaust system efficiency is regularly increased by cleaning the condenser and doing all that can be done to keep it clean. The water flow through the condenser (closed system, so it never contacts the steam directly) to condense it must be maintained, also. perhaps opening up and flushing the condenser to remove debris that hinders flow, and blocks tubes so they do not condense as well.

For the unmodified channel, the worst case stress is about 9,500 psi. Adding the hole raises this to about 14600 psi.  A36 can handle this with ease.

When you loose condenser vacuum, you certianly loose turbine power. This means that you are no longer "sucking" the steam through the turbine as much. The steam, therefore, is hotter as it comes from the steam turbine. It is no longer saturated steam, but it is superheated steam, and carries with it hotter conditions. This means that there could be destructive problems with turbine blading ... materials issues. blading is already designed close to failure, so this higher temperature could cause blade seperation and possible catistrophic failure of the turbine and condenser. And when you loose one piece, you will usually loose more than one. Remember, this blade is rotating at high speed, and at a large enough radius from the center of rotation that it will contain a lot of destructive energy.

So, to make a long story shorter, This needs to be avoided for equipment long life, and the avoidance of catestrophic failure ... besides the wasting of energy, loss of efficiency, and loss of power.
