Various types of keyboard connectors have been used in different types of systems. The most common connectors used with PC keyboards are 6-pin PS/2 mini DINs, 5-pin DINs, and RJ-11jacks. PC-XT- and AT-compatible systems have historically used the 5-pin DIN connector, whereas the 6-pin mini DIN is used with ATX systems.
