There are some questions your interviewer has no business asking, and this is one.  But while you may feel like answering, "none of your business, "  naturally you can't. Some interviewers ask this question on the chance you admit to something, but if not, at least they'll see how you think on your  feet.

Some unprepared candidates, flustered by this question,  unburden themselves of guilt from their personal life or career, perhaps expressing regrets regarding a parent, spouse, child  etc. All such answers can be disastrous.

BEST ANSWER:  As with faults and weaknesses,  never confess a regret.  But don't seem as if you're stonewalling either.

Best strategy:  Say you harbor no regrets, then add a principle or habit you practice regularly for healthy human relations.

Example:  Pause for reflection, as if the question never occurred to you.   Then say, "You know, I really can't think of anything."  (Pause again, then add): "I would add that as a general management principle, I've found that the best way to avoid regrets is to avoid causing them in the first place.  I practice one habit that helps me a great deal in this regard.  At the end of each day, I mentally review the day's events and conversations to take a second look at the people and developments I'm involved with and do a doublecheck of what they're likely to be feeling.  Sometimes I'll see things that do need more follow-up, whether a pat on the back, or maybe a five minute chat in someone's office to make sure we're clear on things.whatever."

Start with the present and tell why you are well qualified for the position. Remember that the key to all successful interviewing is to match your qualifications to what the interviewer is looking for. In other words you must sell what the buyer is buying. This is the single most important strategy in job hunting.

So, before you answer this or any question it's imperative that you try to uncover your interviewer's greatest need, want, problem or goal.
To do so, make you take these two steps:
Do all the homework you can before the hr interview to uncover this person's wants and needs (not the generalized needs of the industry or company)

As early as you can in the interview, ask for a more complete description of what the position entails. You might say: "I have a number of accomplishments I'd like to tell you about, but I want to make the best use of our time together and talk directly to your needs. To help me do, that, could you tell me more about the most important priorities of this position? All I know is what I (heard from the recruiter, read in the classified ad, etc.)"

Then, ALWAYS follow-up with a second and possibly, third question, to draw out his needs even more. Surprisingly, it's usually this second or third question that unearths what the interviewer is most looking for.

You might ask simply, "And in addition to that?..." or, "Is there anything else you see as essential to success in this position?:

This process will not feel easy or natural at first, because it is easier simply to answer questions, but only if you uncover the employer's wants and needs will your answers make the most sense. Practice asking these key questions before giving your answers, the process will feel more natural and you will be light years ahead of the other job candidates you're competing with.

After uncovering what the employer is looking for, describe why the needs of this job bear striking parallels to tasks you've succeeded at before. Be sure to illustrate with specific examples of your responsibilities and especially your achievements, all of which are geared to present yourself as a perfect match for the needs he has just described.

Recruiters do have the ability to retest you at no cost to them, so I would not recommend cheating to pass the test.

Microsoft introduced an alternative to CGI, the Internet Server Application Programming Interface (or ISAPI). ISAPI addresses one of the most limiting features of CGI applications. Each time a client requests the execution of a CGI application, the web server executes a separate instance of the application, sends in the user's requesting information, and serves the results of the CGI application's processing to the client. The problem with this approach is that a separate CGI application is loaded for each request. This can be quite a drain on the server's resources if there are many requests for the CGI application.ISAPI alleviates this problem by relying on dynamic link libraries (DLLs). Each ISAPI application is in the form of a single DLL that is loaded into the same memory space as the web server upon the first request for the application. Once in memory, the DLL stays in memory, answering user requests until it is explicitly released from memory. This increased efficiency in memory usage comes at a cost. All ISAPI DLLs must be thread-safe so that multiple threads can be instantiated into the DLL without causing problems with the application's function. ISAPI applications are normally faster than their equivalent CGI applications because the web server does not have to instantiate a new application every time a request is made. Once the ISAPI application DLL is loaded into memory, it stays in memory. The web server does not need to load it again

If your system has hardware devices that are not on the Windows 2000 Hardware Compatibility List, you should contact the manufacturer of the device to determine whether they have new, updated Windows 2000 drivers for their device. Many peripheral makers have become very proactive in supplying updated drivers for their devices-often, posting their latest drivers and product compatibility information on their Internet Web sites, where they can be downloaded by customers. The second alternative is to try the device with Windows NT or Windows 9x drivers to see if it will work. The final option is to get a device that is listed on the Windows 2000 HCL.

(Never answer with negative reasons, even if they are true. However, some companies have financial problems which may preclude you from staying with them. Frame your answer positively by answering why you want to move to the target company instead of why you left or want to leave your most recent job. For example, instead of answering, "I don't get enough challenges at [company]," respond, "I am eager to take on more challenges, and I believe I will find them at [hiring company]. "I'm not unhappy (at my present employer). However, this opportunity seems to be particularly interesting and I am interested in pursuing it further. Never personalize or be negative. Keep it short, give a "group" answer (e.g. our office is closing, the whole organization is being reduced in size). Stick to one response; don't change answers during the interview. When applicable; best response is: I was not on the market when PPR Career contacted me and explained what you are doing, it peaked my interest.)

It follows from devolving managerial responsibility, and assumes that those who are closest to the point of delivery of product/service and other activities will normally be in the best position to make informed choices between alternative courses of action. For devolved budgeting to be fully effective, the budget holder should maintain proper control of the costs being charged to him or her and be accountable for performance against budget. The budget structures are being scrutinized continuously, the aim being to establish what further scope exists for useful devolution of authority and responsibility.

This accounting guideline states that if doubt exists between two acceptable alternatives (in other words the accountant needs to break a tie), the accountant should choose the alternative that will result in a lesser asset amount and/or a lesser profit. A classic example is inventory where the replacement cost is less than the actual cost. The accountant must decide whether to leave the inventory at cost or to reduce the inventory amount to its replacement cost. Conservatism directs the accountant to reduce the inventory to the lower amount (the replacement cost).
